Anastasia Suen

Author Anastasia Suen will be visiting our school on Tuesday, October 12. All students will have the opportunity to hear her speak. We are also providing the opportunity to purchase Anastasia Suen books, which she will personally dedicate while she is here. Order forms have gone home in Thursday folders, and there are extras available in the library. This week in library every grade level will hear Anastasia Suen books, and complete fun activities to go along with them. We are so privileged to be able to have a real children's book author visit us!

Goldilocks and the Three Bears

This week in second grade story time we are reading Goldilocks and the Three Bears by Caralyn Buehner. This is a bouncy version of the familiar story. With each class I have one student volunteer hold my Goldilocks and the three bears doll and use it to act out the story as I read it. It is a lot of fun to watch and listen to the story this way!

Bluebonnet Reading Program

Our Bluebonnet Reading Program has begun for the year. This program is open to all third through fifth grade students. All you have to do is read five of the Bluebonnet books from this year's list, and fill out your Bluebonnet form. We have extra forms in the library if you misplace yours. Return your form to me in the library and I will ask you a few simple questions to be sure you read the books. Then you will be one of our Bluebonnet readers! We will have voting in the cafeteria in January where you will cast your vote for your favorite Bluebonnet book. Then in February you will be invited to our Bluebonnet party.
