Animal Adaptations Research

Fourth grade came to the library this week for animal adaptations research. They used Zoobooks to research four animals of their choice. Then they used the information they gathered to create awesome flip books. I love this unit because I learn so much while I'm helping the students! Did you know that elephants are wonderful swimmers and polar bears have black skin?

Ocean Animal Research

First grade came to the library in March for ocean animal research. Each student researched ocean invertebrates, mammals, fish, crustaceans, and birds. They were able to choose animals of each type to learn more about. It was exciting to be a part of these students first library research project.

Third grade came to the library in March for arctic animal research. They used library resources to complete several activities including making a life size penguin and arctic food chain. We had fun and they learned a lot in the process.
