Caldecott Medal Books

Last week in the library we read Caldecott Medal books. We learned that the Caldecott Medal has been awarded every year since 1938 "to the artist of the most distinguished American Picture Book for Children published in the United States during the preceeding year."
Some of our favorites at Taylor include The Funny Little Woman by Mosel, The Man Who Walked Between the Towers by Gerstein, Officer Buckle and Gloria by Rathmann, Make Way for Ducklings by McCloskey, and Black and White by Macaulay.

Storyteller Auditions
Every year the Lone Star Storytelling Festival takes place in October, and all of the fourth graders in Frisco are able to attend. The Frisco Public Library is accepting audition tapes for those students who might like to be a student teller. If this sounds like something you might be interested in, come by the library and I have more information for you. We would be very proud to have a Taylor student be featured as one of the storytellers!
